Dr. Spencer,

I saw you perform at the SF Jazz lecture on African jazz. You were wonderful. My friend is visiting from Ghana, and we hoped to make your show on Saturday at Martuni's but it turns out we have a scheduling conflict. Are you performing anywhere else this weekend?
Thank you!

Dee,

It was great meeting you at Pier 23 last Wednesday. I'm back in St. Louis and wish you and the band would travel here for an extended engagement. I love what you're doing and how you're inspiring teens to explore music. I hope to track you down next time I'm in the Bay Area.

Peace,

Mark

Dr.Dee,
My commentary July 16, 2009 I must make correction of the date stated reference to the subject performance at Rassela's Jazz Club June 13, 2009. The corrected date was July 13, 2009, not June 13, 2009 as mistakenly typed. Dr. Dee you are an awesome musician! I am advising all who honestly enjoy great performances to go to one of the Dr. Dee Spencer performances, hear and witness for themselves your great talent, a God given gift of love through your performances.

Dr. Dee,
Monday June 13, 2009 at Rassela's Jazz Club you and your Trio put on a magnificent performance at the Dee Spencer & Trio Open Mic night. Every Vocalist that picked up the microphone that evening were sensational. Dr. Dee your extrodinary musicianship and great leadership encouraged and complimented the best in your dynamic Trio and each Vocalist that evening. I invited guest from Atlanta, Georgia to join me at Rassela's June 13, 2009 to hear you and your Trio. After the performance June 13, 2009 Dr. Dee my guest were excited and stated that if they (each person) were a residence in Northern California they would follow each of your performances because you are one of the greatest on the piano and your musicians compliment you as you compliment each one of them. Oh no Dr. Dee, I am not done with my testimony yet. That evening I purchased one of your CD's, the Dee Spencer "Vintage School" CD published in 2000 on the DeeJazz Records label. Dr. Dee I now want to know why you did not recieve a Grammy Nomination for track #6, ENTENTE during the Grammy Awards for 2001? Dr. Dee, you are a California Jewel.

Ms.Dee,
You are incredible. I love your style on the piano. I was in attendance at Club Anton in Oakland, Ca. Saturday March 21, 2009. You accompanied Ms. Anna Maria Flechero in addition to accompanying the performance of Pat Lady Guitar Wilder, each performance was magnificent. Bravo, Ms. Dee, a standing ovation for you!

Les Walker

July 26, 2007

My name is Les Walker, and one of things I have done over the years is play jazz piano. An old friend of mine from the days I lived in NYC (Peter Andrews) once mentioned you as one of his friends here in the Bay Area. I haven't had contact with Peter in quite some time and wondered if you had a contact phone number or address for him? The last time I spoke with him was just after his mother's death. He was then living back in NYC but talked about moving back out to the West Coast.
Greatly appreciate any assistance you might provid.
Keep the music fresh!

I enjoyed hearing you at the Jimmy Scott performance in Las Vegas recently. Although I had made a commitment to start singing, it remimded me of how much I love Jazz and performing. The Open mic sessions really helped. Thanks.

Lowell Moorcroft

January 4, 2007

Hello -

I run an online calender of "intellectual" events in the UC Berkeley area.

I'm including your Monday presentations at the Berkeley Main library and am wondering if will be supplying topics for each lecture, to help people decide to go. If you maintain an e-mail list for events, maybe I could be put on it, if it contains such information. The Berkeley library posts minimal information at this address: http://www.berkeleypubliclibrary.org/system/looking_at_jazz.pdf -- but no topics for each date.

Thanks so much for arranging these presentations.
